We’re sorry, this experience is not able to go ahead right now.
Due to the current lockdown measures, this experience is unable to take place between Thursday 4 November and Tuesday 2 December.
Every booking - regardless of when this takes place, will play a part in helping our local businesses to survive this challenging time and help them bounce back when we are able to visit them in person again.
Book something to look forward to or gift to someone special for when lockdown is over, or to celebrate a brand new year!
Here’s a chance to immerse yourself in nature whilst learning to forage for wild ingredients along the way.
First you’ll get into the mindset of a forager, before heading out to discover the vast array of wild edibles lying all around us, including mushrooms, berries and nuts. You’ll leave with a knowledge of foraging, having learnt about the different ways you can eat and cook with wild ingredients and where to find them.
Your foraging walk will be in a beautiful private woodland in Tickenham, towards Somerset. Your meeting point and how to get there will be shared after booking and in the lead up to the experience.
Minimum fitness level required.
There are no upcoming dates for this experience.
Existing dates have all sold out, but you can book now and schedule later when new dates are released.
There will be a maximum group size 15 people, with a limit of 6 people in each booking. We will be keeping to 1.5m+ social distancing and using hand sanitiser any time a hard surface is touched (please bring your own hand sanitiser). There won't be any passing of plant/fungi/samples – we will point them out so you can pick them for yourself whilst we talk about them. Any samples provided will be prepared in Totally Wild UK's professional kitchen
Come along wearing comfortable shoes and appropriate clothes for the weather
You may like to bring something to take notes on – whether that’s your phone, a camera or a notepad. You could even sketch some of the things that you see
Please bring a drink and snacks for yourself for the walk to keep you going, as well as hand sanitiser
Wild Folk puts on creative events in magical green spaces in and around Bristol. The aim is to help people grow their own personal nature connection (whilst improving their general wellbeing) as well as to connect with other ‘wild folk’ to do these activities with. At every event we encourage a sense of community, if only for a few hours. You can expect foraging walks, creative workshops, feasts, storytelling and poetry.View more experiences by Wild Folk
Hannah was inspired to create Wild Folk to help people immerse themselves in nature, enjoy cooking on fires and socialise in a supportive community. She started Wild Folk as a meetup group here in the South West that people could come to alone or with friends, and now offers a variety of nature experiences.
