Indonesian cooking social (BYOB)

In this Indonesian cooking class, you'll learn how to prepare some of the country's most popular dishes, including:

  • Gado-gado, a colourful salad of seasonal veggies and crunchy toppings, tossed with a creamy peanut dressing
  • Beef rendang, a rich and aromatic curry that melts in your mouth
  • Ayam taliwang, a spicy grilled chicken from the island of Lombok.

You'll also get to taste some of the exotic ingredients and spices that make Indonesian food so unique and flavourful.

This event is perfect for anyone who loves to cook, eat, and learn new things. You'll have fun and make new friends as you cook together in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. You'll also get to enjoy the fruits of your labour at the end of the class, as you sit down and share a feast of Indonesian delicacies.

What do you need to know before you book?

  • This is a BYO event, so feel free to bring your favourite drink to enjoy while you cook.
  • The hosts can cater for different dietary needs on request. Just let us know in advance if you have any allergies or preferences.
  • This event is suitable for anyone over 14, as long as they have a full-paying adult with them.
  • Please bring your own containers to take home any leftovers. We're all about reducing waste and saving the planet.
  • Don't forget to bring your own apron. They'll provide everything else you need.

Paul Mannering

Paul started his work in kitchens washing dishes as a 15 year old, and soon grew to love the hustle and bustle of this industry. He’s now worked as a professional chef for 24 years in kitchens all over the UK, as well as the U.A.E and Netherlands. As well as sharing his love for food at Cooking It, Mark also works at the National Chef Academy as Vice Principal, combining his passion for food and teaching with enthusiastic apprentice chefs. As a chef he’s willing to try anything and is always on the lookout for unique flavour combinations.
