This short course is for mixed levels where you will practise core skills and techniques and be inspired by art history. It is uniquely focussed on both clay and glaze. Come and work in a relaxed, hands-on, ceramic studio environment, the course offers equal focus on form and surface. Led by a professional working ceramic designer, you will get the creative direction you need to build foundational skills and confidently bring your ideas to life. It is a mixed level course for anyone who wants to try out ceramic projects and be inspired by pottery in art history.
Helen has been teaching and working with ceramics and glaze for 20+ years. Her ceramic works have been featured on The Great Pottery Throw Down, commissioned by companies like Aberdeen Standard Life, G and J Jack and EtsyUK. Her work is best known for its complex melting glazes and quietly provocative design. Helen's breadth of experience is invaluable when it comes to teaching creative ceramics and glaze. This course gives students the confidence to try things out and push the boundaries of material and function in pottery.
The mixed level short course offers a chance to learn a technique every week and be inspired by contemporary and historic pottery designs from around the world.
