Improvers Jewellery Course: Stone Setting

This skills-based silversmithing course is ideal for beginners and improvers looking to develop a strong foundation in stone setting. Taught in a warm, supportive environment, you’ll learn essential techniques through guided practice and hands-on making.

The course focuses on core stone setting methods and is suitable for those new to setting as well as makers wanting to build confidence and refine their skills.

Weekly Breakdown:

Week 7: Bezel setting

Week 8: Bezel setting (continued)

Week 9: Tube setting

Week 10: Flush setting techniques

Week 11: Applying flush setting

Week 12: Personal projects

All tools, handouts, and general materials are included, along with supplier lists. Silver is charged separately based on weight used.

This course is perfect for learning and applying essential stone setting techniques in silver jewellery making.

Down to earth and welcoming Bethany loves sharing her passion for jewellery making with makers of all levels. Having learnt from Alice Goldsack, herself a student of the prominent Diana Porter, Bethany cares deeply about the silversmithing culture and community in Bristol. After years of creating her own work, Bethany developed engaging workshops for beginner jewellers and has taught people of all ages and abilities. Bethany is an experienced creative workshop teacher, educator and trainer who will ensure the experience is fun, memorable and participants leave feeling empowered.
