Delve into the rich tapestries of Birmingham’s history and celebrate the contributions of its black community on this walking tour. This Black Heritage Walk Network experience is held in recognition of the American journalist and early civil rights movement leader, Ida B Wells.

What to expect:

  • A meet and greet with your fellow guests and guides
  • Set off on foot - get a full historical overview of Birmingham and the local area's diversity
  • Celebrate the successes of the black community in Birmingham as your hosts highlight key areas of influence
  • Develop an understanding of how this brilliant city moves to the beat of the migrant communities who settled here in 1948, with a focus on music, cuisine, art and sports

This is a moderate walk that takes place on a busy high street - your hosts will ensure you are kept safe. If you have any issues that may affect your ability to keep up with the pace, please note this when booking.
