What you'll do

Step inside Bristol Museum & Art Gallery for your very own “Night at the Museum” to enjoy a truly special movie screening! Enter this magnificent space after hours, enjoy live performers and then take your seat in the Rear Hall to watch the film among the exhibits.

In the buildup to Halloween 2021 Bristol Film Festival is putting on a suitably witchy double bill, starting with the beloved family “spookomedy” Hocus Pocus. Just keep an eye out for their resident witches before the show…

Max is a teenager who struggles to fit in after moving to Salem, Massachusetts with his family. Whilst exploring an abandoned house in his new neighborhood, he accidentally lights the cursed Candle of Black Flame. This releases a trio of witches who were executed in 1693. With the help of his sister Dani, his new friend Alison, and a 300-year-old talking cat, Max must keep the witches away from their book of spells, which contains the power to make them immortal.

About Bristol Film Festival

Bristol Film Festival was started by director Owen Franklin in 2015. The Festival provides an alternative experience for lovers of film and cinema, and celebrates the cultural landscape of his home city, Bristol.

The concept is simple: to bring classic films back to the big screen, in some of Bristol’s most iconic and interesting venues, including Bristol Museum, Clifton Observatory, Bristol Cathedral, and Redcliffe Caves.

The films and locations are carefully matched together, and involve unique immersive elements - whether it's live performers, tours of venues after hours, or themed wine tastings, you can expect to leave one of our events having had a film experience unlike any other!
