Hike & Draw around Bath Skyline

Slow down, sketch what catches your eye and uncover a quieter side of Bath through hidden valleys, ancient paths and panoramic countryside views.

Beginning at Bath Train Station, you’ll gradually leave the city behind and follow a circular six-mile route through meadows, woodland trails and hidden valleys overlooking Bath.

Along the way, you’ll pause regularly to sketch, observe and reconnect with the landscape around you - from wild plants and fungi to ancient stone, hidden quarries and sweeping views across Bath’s Georgian rooftops. As spring shifts gently towards summer, the experience encourages you to notice the subtle changes in the season while uncovering stories layered into the land itself.

Your host will guide moments of observation and creative reflection throughout the walk, creating space for conversation, curiosity and calm. There’s no pressure to create perfect artwork - this experience is about slowing down enough to really notice what’s around you and responding creatively in your own way.

Expect birdsong, sketchbook pages filled with discoveries and a completely different perspective on Bath beyond the city streets.

You'll be hosted by

Sam Pierpoint

I’m a nature-loving paper artist and illustrator working on both commercial and self initiated projects as well as leading workshops which encourage play with paper.

I specialise in creating handcrafted paper illustrations for a variety of uses, from: advertising events to animated awareness campaigns to product set design as well as illustrated magazine covers and editorials.

I’m deeply interested in the topics of nature connection, foraging, circular design and the psychology of behaviour change. My favourite projects to work on are those which spark imagination and curiosity whilst keeping things playful.

As well as the commercial work, I speak at events about my art and its connection to the environment.
