Haunted and Hidden Bristol Walking Tour

I learnt loads about a place I thought I already knew, and really enjoyed the sights and tales as we went.

We couldn't rate this experience enough, it was utterly, utterly brilliant. We had some friends visiting from Stockport and this was a perfect way to show them Bristol! So much was covered and it was nice to have film/tv and music elements thrown in as well.

A super whistle stop tour of interesting bits of Bristol city centre from the Cathedral to the Old Vic and lots in between. Grizzly history or filming locations - our guide had all the info.

We really enjoyed our walk around Bristol,it was a great way to get our bearings and find where everything is.Really informative and engaging stories especially all the ghostly tales,even my three teenagers enjoyed it which is about the highest accolade you can get.

As a bristol resident, it was great to learn loads of new information about the city. Really interesting and informative, and John was great for recommending good independent music venues and shops so I imagine it would be a great intro to bristol if you were visiting!

We learnt lots of facts about Bristol that you wouldn't necessarily know even if you live here for some time.

Myself and my 2 teenagers really enjoyed the walk. It was a fun and interesting evening. The route was just the right length, not too short or long. Great value for money.

Excellent, entertaining, educational, well spent two hours, with a very helpful, lovely tour guide.

I wish all guided walks were like this! John has an incredible ability to seamlessly mix history, ghost stories and fascinating film, music and TV facts into one tour, keeping us all gripped throughout. He has a real local's knowledge and even threw in a few pub/bar/restaurant/venue recommendations. He was also really flexible and understanding in allowing me to reschedule when I was unable to make a couple of dates.

We loved this walking tour. The host was a mine of experience (it was very apparent that he’d lived in Bristol for years and loves the area and the people). We really enjoyed the history and the discovery of places in our new home city that we have a history for when we visit / walk through in the future. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get to know Bristol better and also who wants a really interesting evening out.

What a great experience! The tour is great value for money as it’s jammed packed with facts and trivia about historical Bristol and film sets that have been filmed across the city. The host was also really funny which made the experience extra enjoyable! The walking route was easy and we went at a good pace for everyone to keep up, it never felt like we were in a rush. We have already recommended this to several friends and are thinking about booking one for our family next time they visit.

90 minute or so walk , need to be comfortable on your feet but definitely a good experience

I thought the host was fab, I emailed the host in advance of the walk as I was concerned with heavy rain and he offered me the option of doing it another day, and we ended up running late and emailed him advising him andhe emailed back straight away telling me times where he would be so I could catch up, the information the host gave was excellent and interesting and really brilliant and clear delivery andhe is clearly passionate and knowledgeable of the city - nice friendly & helpful person! ☺️

John, our amiable host, took us on a back streets walk of the city centre, front loading with anecdotes about the buildings around. Lots of facts I wasn’t aware of, despite working in Bristol centre for over twenty years.

The tour guide was balanced facts with Bristol humour really well. It was insightful to learn about the old haunted history and the modern movie/music history of the buildings. The tour guide was brilliant.

John was a fantastic guide. He has a real passion for the city of Bristol. He was extremely knowledgable and even though we are all locals we learnt loads. It was a fun thing to do and as I did as a present it was something different. We all had a great evening and cannot recommend this tour highly enough. Great value for money.

The yup team were very helpful when I was running late to help put me in contact with the host to meet along the route. The service was fast and straight forward something I didn’t expect on a Saturday night. It’s nice to see customer service at the for front of your platform it was not unnoticed and a refreshing change in today’s market. John the host happily welcomed us to continue the tour with him and we were also allowed to bring our dog, it was an interesting evening!

The walk was really fascinating, we really enjoyed it

Focused mostly on celebrity visits to Bristol for the first half but became more ghost-based in the latter half. Great host, very affable. Found out plenty of new stories about places in Bristol I walk past every day.

I suspect we picked up some free taggers-on as the walk progressed, as our numbers seemed greater at the end than the beginning, but oh well!

We absolutely loved the tour, we have actually been before but it was slightly different this time! John is so knowledgable and engaging, it is obvious he loves the tours and Bristol! The walk was at a nice steady pace stopping at points of interest, we’ve always loved in Bristol and learnt so much! Well worth the money, I will be recommending it to all our friends!
