Take the satisfaction of a good cuppa to the next level with your own special mug to drink from!
This workshop introduces you to the art of hand-building in a fun, friendly, and accessible way! It is suitable for ceramic beginners, or anyone who has briefly experimented with clay and wants to give it another go!
With copious teas and coffees, this class will introduce you to techniques such as slab rolling, carving, embossing and joining. Templates are provided for the class however if you have a specific design in mind you can also create your own unique piece!
You'll be taken through the steps of rolling and compressing, cutting out your forms and constructing your mug and coaster; which you can then enjoy decorating and customising with all the tools available.
Once you finish creating your set you can get stuck into painting your pieces with a range of different coloured slips! They will then be left to dry for a week, after which they will be bisque fired, glazed and fired again. Pieces are usually ready to collect between 4 - 6 weeks after creation. All pieces made are dishwasher safe.
The aim of this workshop is to make clay fun and easily accessible to everyone. You can book the workshop individually, or privately for birthdays, work do's, hen do's and other special occasions!
Provided by us: Aprons, clay, all tools for carving, rolling pins and guides, rolling matt, teas and coffees, letters for embossing templates. ... you just need to bring yourselves!

Really fun class and great time. Great to do with friends and family to learn something new.
We went as a group of 4 (+2 other people) and had such a great time, it was so much fun and we had a lot of creative freedom. Jess was an amazing host and really made us feel at ease. It was such a relaxing experience and I highly recommend. I would love to go back for a different workshop at some point☺️
Booked the tickets experience as a birthday present for my partner and we both had a fantastic time! Jess was very welcoming and is an excellent teacher, the 3 hour session we had absolutely flew by. We would definitely do this again!

I really enjoyed the experience! Jess is a very good host and made us very comfortable. She was encouraging us to be creative, supporting us at each stage. A very good way to finish the weekend
My friend and I absolutely loved this experience. Jess was an amazing host and Kiln was a gorgeous spot for an evening of crafting! As a beginner, Jess made the workshop really easy to follow and fun! She was always there to lend a hand if anyone got stuck and encouraged us to get creative. It was a really relaxed and laidback atmosphere. Being in a smaller group meant we could all ask questions and have a nice chat. It was the perfect wholesome Sunday. I'm chuffed with my mug and coaster!
Jess was a lovely host who was supportive and made the experience really enjoyable, would recommend it!

Wear clothes that you don't mind getting a bit mucky! Nothing we work with stains, but it can be a bit messy.
I recommend cutting/filing your nails as it can get a little fiddly and difficult with long nails.
