This half-day taster session with Hot Fox Pottery will give you a real feel for clay. Whether it's just for fun or if you want to give it a go before committing to a longer course, we will help you make a lovely pot.
During this workshop, you will either be exploring the pinch-pot technique or slab-building, and can choose to make things such as mugs, vases, candle-holders, plant pots, butter dishes etc.
You can choose one of our lovely dipping glazes, or you can decorate the piece yourself using underglaze paints and other decoration techniques.
Our sessions are small, with no more than 8 people, and plenty of tea and coffee! No previous knowledge is necessary, but people who have done pottery before are also very welcome.
Come and experience the relaxed and creative joy of pottery, and hopefully, you will get the ceramics bug and want to come back for more!
If you aren't local, we can arrange to post your pots to you once they have been fired.
Please note this is a scheduled group session, but if you would like to book this as a private workshop for 2 - 8 people, on a date of your choosing, please do get in touch.
Free on-street parking is available at the time of the session.
Age restrictions: 12+
| Adult | £80 |
There is free on-street parking outside the studio. Please don't arrive until the time of your workshop as we don't have anywhere for you to wait! Aprons will be provided, but it can be messy, so please don't wear your best clothes!
Alice has been potting for over a decade, and is passionate about teaching people the mindful joy of working with clay.
In her own work, she loves to make weird and wonderful animal sculptures, with functional elements - think octopus candle holders, and giant African land snails!
Tom is a science teacher, turner potter, so knows all about the chemistry behind the glazes we use, and is a passionate educator.
He loves to stretch and challenge his students to make interesting and different pottery creations, and in his own time has been known to make scaled up Lego figures out of clay!
