Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) is a quilting technique which uses paper as a foundation to stabilise your quilt block as you create it. FPP enables you to create almost any size or shape of design which provides more creative flexibility than traditional pieced quilt blocks.
Over this 2 hour 30 minute workshop, we’ll take you through the principles of the process and show you how to get you started on your first project. This is the perfect ‘scrap busting’ technique as you require small pieces of fabric rather than larger cuts.
Participants should have a basic level of confidence sewing with a machine. Singer Heavy Duty sewing machines are provided as part of the course fee. You can bring your own machine if you have one.
If you’ve never used a machine before, we’d strongly recommend that you start with one of our ‘Introduction to Sewing Machines’ sessions.
We have a huge bucket of scraps so you do not need to bring your own fabric.
Every participant will be provided with their own detailed set of pattern instructions to take home with them. You’ll also get a free ‘Add a Quarter’ ruler which you will need for any future FPP projects.
