For these three creative foraging sessions, we'll explore our inner-city green spaces and show you how to find, make and use wild medicines. We’ll get to know and remember the plants and fungi we encounter through collecting, crafting, sketching, journalling and printmaking. We’ll engage all of our senses and learn practically as we form our own personal and creative approaches to foraging and wild medicine-making.
Suitable for any level of experience, including all foragers, medicine makers, friends of fungi and pals of plants both new and old.
SESSION ONE - MEADOW MEDICINE & WILD GARDENING: OCTOBER - Greenbank Cemetery, BS5 We’ll be collecting seeds, learning about their medicine and sharing how to successfully plant them in your own spaces and in public places; which seeds are best for your space, where to plant them and how to get other materials, what to consider in your local area and what to do with your wild medicine once it grows.
SESSION TWO - ELDER, HAWTHORN & ROSE: NOVEMBER - venue TBC We’ll be sharing the fundamentals of medicine making in this sweet syrupy session, showing you how to extract the medicine from these powerful plants. As well as making your own medicine, we’ll also show you how to craft your own medicine labels printmaking techniques.

Maria is very welcoming and knowledgeable. The whole event was well planned and inclusive. We learned loads! Given me confidence to try more herbal vinegars. Really fun afternoon
