What you'll do

Want to bring balance to the body and mind? DCMA's vinyasa and ashtanga-inspired classes will bring both.

These classes aren't just a wonderful standalone practice that will make you feel centered, grounded and aligned. They're just as good companions to martial arts training for the same reason.

Your instructor Chris is a YTT200 fully qualified yoga practitioner who has been studying yoga for over a decade. During each 60 minute workshop you can expect to focus on pranayama (breath) exercises, asana (poses/alignment) and potentially explore some meditation and yoga nidra.

These classes are designed to gently work the body, let the mind to relax and help you unwind. This experience is suitable for beginners up to intermediate yogis. Poses can be modified to suit all ability levels and bodies.

On the day

  • Classes run from 7.30-8.30pm every Thursday
  • All you need to bring is some water and your yoga mat!
  • Mats will be available to borrow on the day but availability is limited so please reach out first

About DCMA Martial Arts & Yoga

DCMA offers fantastic martial arts, yoga and fitness training for the local community. They are fully accredited by and a Gold Standard member of the British Martial Arts and Boxing Association (B.M.A.B.A). Their studio is registered with Yoga Alliance.

These friendly and family-oriented classes are open to all ages, gender and abilities. Whatever your goal may be - regular training for your general fitness or to compete in national tournaments, this host offers something for everyone.

In 'Dragon Claw' classes, learn a freestyle martial arts syllabus based on several different style's principles and techniques. This practice encourages discipline and focus while creating some freedom from the rigidity of a set ‘style’.

DCMA believe in training your mind and body. They enjoy nothing more than diving into the theory behind martial arts, yoga or sports science. They hold regular events and socials to promote their club ethos:

Each of their senior instructors is fully trained, a black belt in dragon claw kung fu and/or lau gar kung fu, a YTT 200/500 yoga instructor, enhanced DBS checked, first aid qualified and fully insured. Instructors continue to train themselves, constantly striving to improve themselves and the knowledge they pass on to their students.

DCMA’s yoga classes are great grounding companions to any martial arts training. Focus on breathing exercises, poses and meditation in each class. Restore balance in your body and mind.
