Join us for a special edition of our family-friendly Vaults Visit, where you'll get the experience the Clifton Suspension Bridge vaults by the flickering light of your very own lantern. Our knowledgeable Learning Team will transport you to the era of the bridge's construction, where you'll get to experience what it would have been like to be the last Victorian workers finishing Brunel's hidden vaults.
This tour, developed especially for families, promises an unforgettable journey into the heart of the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Put on your hard hard and climb down the ladder to discover the stories hidden within Bristol's famous bridge.
Please note, this tour is aimed at families visiting with children between the ages of 7-14. Adult-only bookings will not be accepted.
Important information:
Tours are suitable for age 7+ and under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. There is a minimum height limit of 1.2m. All members of the group must be physically capable of climbing a vertical ladder and passing through a low corridor. You will not be allowed to join the tour in heels or open-toed shoes. Wear sturdy shoes with good grip such as hiking boots or trainers and ensure you have two hands free to climb the ladder.

Your experience will begin and end at the Clifton Suspension Bridge Museum. Please arrive at least five minutes prior to the start of your tour. Hard hats and lanterns will be provided - but please wear sturdy shoes, as well as weather-appropriate clothing suitable for climbing a ladder.
