Monoprinting is a spontaneous and expressive form of printmaking. Join member Jemma Gunning as she shares her love and techniques for this process. She will guide you through the main types of monoprinting, allowing you to play and explore techniques. After her workshop you will leave with the knowledge of how you can create a range of exciting painterly prints at home!

Please aim to arrive on time so we can dive straight into making. The nearest car park is at The Galleries Shopping Centre, and plenty of buses stop in the city centre—just a short stroll from our studio. If you’re cycling, we’ve got safe bike storage at the studio.
Wear clothes you don’t mind getting inky. When you arrive, head to Studio 1, ring the buzzer, and I’ll be there to welcome you into our printmaking space.
Jemma has been working in the realms of printmaking since falling in love with the printed mark on her BA in Drawing many moons ago. She specialises in intaglio and lithographic processes that are rooted in drawing. As a documentary printmaker recording our fading heritage, her practice captures derelict spaces that are in a state of flux, highlighting the beauty that is often found in decay.
Jemma has been teaching printmaking for nearly 10 years. In 2015 she co-founded Bristol Print Collective, a group of printmakers that pop up across the south-west, sharing their skills and passion with diverse communities. In 2020 she co-established Bristol Print Atelier, a place to teach traditional printmaking processes to keep historic techniques alive. Jemma also works part-time as a lithography technical instructor at UWE.
