Join Olu for an exploration of the different transitions used in the dynamic styles of yoga such as Ashtanga, Rocket, and vinyasa flow.
Transitions are quick and efficient ways of moving in and out of postures, maintaining flow and cultivating grace and fluidity in your practice. On a deeper level, this brings focus and concentration to the mind, and a sense of freedom and control to the body. On a philosophical level, we dive in and out of our human form as we transition from one life to the next.
Within the workshop, we'll start off with some sun salutation variations and a medley of standing postures from the Ashtanga series to warm the body up. Then we’ll move on to an exploration of transitions: the connecting moments between postures. This exploration will be both the physical movement coupled with the philosophy of these liminal spaces. Ultimately this practice will help you to connect more deeply and mindfully to the experience of the in-between - enriching your experience of yoga asana going forward.
We'll finish the practice with a Nidra style relaxation to help entrain you to what you’ve learned.
Don’t feel these transitions have to be accomplished at the first attempt, come prepared to have fun and learn in an open and welcoming environment.
