This experience is part of City Uncovered: Birmingham, taking place between May – a limited-time series of unique, under-the-radar experiences designed to help you see the city differently.

What to expect:

You’ll arrive at Wayland’s Yard on Bull Street, where you’ll be welcomed into a laid-back, sociable setting for an evening of wine discovery.

Led by the owner of Birmingham Wine School and co-hosted by Midland Press—Birmingham’s first urban winery—you’ll be guided through a curated selection of six wines from local and English vineyards. Expect a mix of sparkling, white, rosé, and red, each introduced in an approachable and engaging way.

Throughout the session, you’ll learn how to taste wine with confidence, picking up practical tips and insights to help you understand what you enjoy and why. The focus is on exploration rather than expertise, making it accessible whether you’re completely new to wine or already a fan.

With a bespoke tasting booklet in hand, you’ll be able to take notes as you go, while enjoying cheese and crackers alongside the wines. Expect a friendly, interactive atmosphere with plenty of opportunity to ask questions, share opinions, and connect with others.
