Upholstery Weekend: Make an Eco Footstool

There comes a time in every day when all we want to do is put our feet up. The question is: do you have a plush footstool for yours? Because if not, this is something you should seriously consider...

This weekend course from Bristol Upholstery Collective is a seriously satisfying upholstery adventure. This course is designed to tackle some of the environmental issues surrounding modern upholstery by using alternative materials.

This intensive two-day weekend course will give guests the chance to master decorative modern upholstery techniques, such as piping, button making and pleating. Absolute beginners are more than welcome.

What you'll need: 1.5 meters of some upholstery weight fabric Additional contrasting fabric for buttons and piping

You'll leave having made your very own family heirloom. A piece of furniture you can pass down for generations. It's the perfect reupholstery project. Not only that, but you will also leave with transferable skills to start you on your upholstery adventure. Whatever your skill level or reason for attending, this enjoyable upholstery course won't disappoint!

Each ticket covers the weekend: Sat 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM Sun 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM

With a 30 minute lunch break.

We have a wide range of legs you can choose from to customise the design of your footstool and really make it your own. Choose from either more traditional wooden legs (which you could stain at a later date) or some of our bright and colourful Hair Pin Legs.

(Hair Pin Copper legs are extra £20, Brass castor legs Extra £25)

On the day

  • Please arrive at the studio a few minutes before your course begins so you can have a prompt start
  • There is free parking all around the trading estate, as well as in front of UP studios. Please park and drive with consideration to our neighbours. Do not park in front of King or Factory Studios. Please park up and get help carrying your chair into the workshop - we like to avoid injuries!
  • Please wear layers! It can get cold in the studio, but you will soon get warm once you start moving
