Discover the art of Japanese-style dumplings with Bristol’s award-winning dumpling specialists. Join us for an immersive hands-on class where you’ll learn how to mix the filling, master the pleat-and-pinch technique, and cook your creations.
What to expect:
Grab a drink as we make our introductions - enjoy a drink on us (soft or alcoholic).
Learn the technique for ichiban dashi, and use it to make a warming cup of miso soup.
Learn and practise essential techniques: mixing flavour-balanced fillings, stretching and handling wrappers, pleating like a pro, and the ideal 3 step method for cooking gyoza.
Enjoy a hot meal of gyoza with dressed rice (these gyoza are provided by us, you get to keep all yours!).
Take home and freeze the 25-30 dumplings you make, along with a recipe sheet so you can recreate the experience in your own kitchen.
You will be making our signature Pork & Garlic Chive dumplings, or our Green Fuel dumplings (roasted broccoli, pea, and edamame) for the veggie/vegan option.

Please note Gluten/Sesame/Soya allergies and intolerances cannot be accommodated. Vegan alternatives are available. Please bring tuppaware with you to carry your dumplings home!

Around the corner from Wake The Tiger, Meriton Foundry is found at the end of Meriton Street. It can be reached solely by turning off Albert Crescent, some satnav's may try to direct you elsewhere.
Free parking is available in the gated car park.
Wear your most comfortable shoes, you will spend a lot of the class on your feet.
The kitchen is heated by an aircon unit, we recommend that you wear layers so that you can maintain your own level of comfort.
Eatchu are Bristol's gyoza specialists, serving their delicious Japanese dumplings from St Nicks Market, Clifton Triangle, and North Street.
Following a long break since 2021, TEACHU Gyoza Masterclasses are now relaunching on Yuup! Focusing on small groups for a boutique experience, classes take place in the Eatchu prep kitchen in St Philip's where roughly 40,000 dumplings are produced every month.
In each class you will learn to prepare, roll and cook a batch of traditional Pork & Garlic Chive Gyoza. You'll also learn how to make Ichiban Dashi to make yourself a proper cup of Miso Soup to enjoy during the class, alongside a hot meal of gyoza on dressed sushi rice.
Vegan and vegetarian alternatives are available for all classes.
In the class you will make 25-30 dumplings to take home and freeze, so you can enjoy them whenever you like!
