Dedicate the Day: Micro-retreat for Writers

4 hrs
(5)

Dedicate the Day is a writing retreat for busy people. Gone are the days of booking trains to far-off places or sharing rooms with strangers! This little retreat is designed to fit around you and your lifestyle.

Set in the peaceful surroundings of Windmill City Farm, this experience will give you the space, encouragement, and inspiration you need to set your words free.

The retreat offers prompts and provocations which will either get you started on new writing or support you in developing your work in progress. You'll also have time to write, plus space to share and discuss your work.

Want to make the most of the day? Begin early or finish later with an optional tasty snack and cuppa at the Windmill City Farm cafe!

During this event, you will be:

  • Offered prompts to get your creative juices flowing
  • Supported in developing your work
  • Given space to write
  • Invited to share your work with others (if you want to!)
  • Get to meet like-minded people

The workshop is led by award-winning writer and experienced writing coach Alison Powell, of WriteClub.

Alison set up WriteClub in 2016 to support new writing and to build a writing community in Bristol. Since then she has run hundreds of workshops, courses, retreats and open mic events. Team WriteClub now spans the globe!

Alison believes that everyone has the right to write and everyone is welcome at this retreat, regardless of whether you have a stack of novels to your name, or haven't written more than a shopping list in years.

WriteClub provide inspiring creative writing workshops. Connecting you with a lovely writing community or offering one-on-one support to help you get the most out of your writing. All writers are welcome.

Their workshops will help you to get words down on the page, provide advice on how to manage procrastination and (every writer's biggest fear) get feedback on your work.

All workshops are led by WriteClubber-in-chief, Alison Powell. She's been running writing workshops forever (seriously, she even used to get her primary school friends writing stories...) and established WriteClub in 2016.

Alison supports new and established writers and runs regular workshops covering all aspects of the writing craft. Helping people to get going with (and, importantly, to complete!) their long dreamed of novels and memoirs. Alison is an award-winning writer, published in various anthologies and magazines and holds an MA in Creative Writing from Bath Spa.
