What you'll do

DOORS: 11:00 | FILM STARTS 11:15

It’s back… Venture deep into Redcliffe Caves – for the latest instalment of BFF's infamous Horror In The Caves series. Enter through the military tent on Redcliffe Wharf, grab a drink from our pop-up bar to steel your nerves, and step foot inside one of Bristol’s most unusual and exclusive locations for another season of classic and contemporary horror movies. BFF look forward to welcoming you – if you’re brave enough…

BFF's Matinee Screenings return to the Caves at 11:00 on Saturday and Sunday – these screenings showcase vintage films from the horror vault. This year we’re bringing you a Hammer Horror double bill in honour of Christopher Lee’s centenary year; Sunday’s selection is his turn as the Creature in The Curse Of Frankenstein, which shocked contemporary audiences with its levels of gore.

ABOUT THE FILM 1957 | 12A | 83 mins

Victor Frankenstein is a brilliant scientist, driven by a desire to reanimate a human corpse. Assembling a deformed creature out of body parts, Frankenstein’s life ambitions prove successful – but his creation has little interest in obeying his commands…

About Bristol Film Festival

Bristol Film Festival was started by director Owen Franklin in 2015. The Festival provides an alternative experience for lovers of film and cinema, and celebrates the cultural landscape of his home city, Bristol.

The concept is simple: to bring classic films back to the big screen, in some of Bristol’s most iconic and interesting venues, including Bristol Museum, Clifton Observatory, Bristol Cathedral, and Redcliffe Caves.

The films and locations are carefully matched together, and involve unique immersive elements - whether it's live performers, tours of venues after hours, or themed wine tastings, you can expect to leave one of our events having had a film experience unlike any other!
