Create your own watercolour sketch of Bristol

What you'll do

Bristol is a kaleidoscopic city - bursting with colour, quirky architecture and amazing people. So why not capture your own Bristolian scene with watercolours in this workshop?

You’ll be based at Bristol’s picturesque Queen Square, nearby Harbourside. Your host Niki will discuss her award-winning illustrations and what inspires her designs. Niki will show you how to get comfortable using pens and watercolours, whilst she demonstrates how to apply these techniques to draw buildings and trees in her trademark loose and sketchy style.

You will then be invited to do a series of small studies on watercolour paper, where you can channel your artistic flow. This isn’t just a great opportunity to get to grips with this medium, but to look at one of the world’s best cities with a fresh pair of eyes. Niki will create a friendly and encouraging experience, where beginners are welcome and questions can be answered throughout.

Next, you’ll move onto another scenic spot and spend the rest of the workshop creating your own A3 sketch of Queen Square. Capture Bristol’s charm and what this city means to you. Before you know it, you will be stepping away with a bespoke masterpiece to take home and the confidence to sketch again when you’re next out and about.

Niki will supply professional materials for you to borrow during this experience, but if you would like to bring along your own watercolour paints and sketchbook, please do so.

If you have a date in mind and Niki isn't showing availability then please get in touch as her freelancer illustration career means she's super flexible.
