Create your own eco-friendly jesmonite jewellery

Learn how to make your own unique pieces of beautiful eco-friendly jesmonite stone jewellery. Join Promises Promises owner and professional jewellery designer Vicky Myatt in the studio.

You will:

  • Learn about stone composite and how to use this amazing material for jewellery making
  • Prepare a mould with different types of findings and make earrings or necklace pendants
  • Mix and dye the composite to create your own unique colours
  • Learn three different casting techniques - apply them to your pieces to create a range of patterns
  • Discover how to sand and seal your jewels to create beautiful finished pieces

Your host Vicky is a big believer in the power of bringing people together through the communal experience of making. Whether your workshop is with friends or people you have just met, you will be sure of a warm and friendly welcome in this interactive workshop. Vicky will be there with you every step of the way, helping you, answering any questions and sharing her years of experience as a jewellery designer.

Promises Promises

Promises Promises is an award-winning jewellery design studio based in Bristol. Vicky's work is currently showcased in a range of shops including the Tate Modern, the Barbican and international boutique outlets. She's completed some dream commissions to create ranges for The British Library, the Science Museum and Laphroaig Whisky Distillery.

For Vicky, it’s all about the creative process - this is something she's really excited to share in her workshops. Vicky's got eight years of experience under her belt working with the eco-friendly stone composite jesmonite. This sustainable alternative to concrete or traditional resin allows Vicky to create beautifully coloured and patterned stones for her pieces. In workshops, she will share all the tips and tricks she's learnt to work with this exciting material successfully and creatively.

Vicky Myatt (She/Her)

Vicky started out making things so young that she can’t remember wanting to do anything else. Growing up she studied fashion design and worked for boutique British accessory label Emmy London for many years. While there, she started making jewellery in her spare time, soon realising that expressing her creativity through design was all she wanted to do. Since striking out on her own she has built Promises Promises into a successful design studio selling her unique jewellery internationally.
Vicky started making jewellery at a difficult period in her life and is passionate about sharing her experience of the positive power of making something beautiful with your own hands. She has been working with jesmonite for six years. Vicky loves the potential of the material to experiment with and create something unique.
