What you'll do

It doesn't matter if you're young, old, a yarning pro, or new to this crafty crew. Yarn Over Coffee's Craft Group for All is just that! Their youngest member has been six months and the oldest one 90 years! Beginners can rub shoulders with experienced crafters and learn in harmony together.

This crew tends to knit and crochet, but they also have members who like beading, cross-stitching, needle felting and sewing. This bunch just loves crafting and meeting other like-minded people in the Southville and Bedminster area.

Yarn Over Coffee believes that craft is a great ice breaker. Regardless of your background, beliefs, age and ability - craft provides a topic we can all relate to and chat about. (Some of us for hours!).

They understand that joining a new group can be a bit daunting for some, so they do their best to make the group as welcoming and accommodating as possible. Please contact the host if you have anything you would like them to be aware of or help you with, to make it easier for you to join them.

Yarn Over Coffee meets on Thursday mornings (during school term) from 10:00 till 12:00. They craft, chat and there's always biscuits and tea or coffee. Parents and carers with young children, as well as homeschooling children, are welcome. This friendly bunch can't wait for you to join!

About Yarn Over Coffee

Yarn Over Coffee was set up in 2013 by Petra. She wanted to provide fun knitting and crochet experiences for complete (and probably nervous) beginners. It all started around her kitchen table in the evenings, after her children went to bed. As they grew older, Petra began offering lessons, workshops, and craft groups around Yate and Bristol. She's met lots of wonderful people since and is happy to say many of them are still workshop regulars.

During the lockdown, when she was unable to run any lessons, Petra still wanted to help people learn how to knit and crochet. With her two children's assistance, Petra created Hooked Kits for Kids - easy knitting and crochet kits for children. Since life began to reopen, Petra's expanded her original workshops and craft groups' offerings. This has introduced lots of new makers to the Yarn Over Coffee community. Whether you're an adult knitter or have children who're keen to crochet - Petra will be happy to help!
