Commercial Sewing Patterns Part 2: application

The aim of this workshop is to give you the opportunity to start your own project from a commercial ‘off-the-shelf’ pattern and benefit from our support as you learn.

Preparing your fabric and pattern templates is a hugely important stage in sewing from commercial patterns. Learn how to give yourself the best chance of an enviable finish to your project.

Master the language of commercial pattern markings. Have more confidence in recognising what they are and how they translate in practice. Learn how to cut your fabric and stabilisers with accuracy and learn different ways to transfer your pattern’s markings onto your fabric pieces.

Leave with your project ready to start sewing with everything cut out and markings transferred.

You may be able to start sewing before the end of the workshop – but that will very much depend on the pattern and fabric you have chosen.

What to expect:

  • Transform fabric and patterns into a masterpiece with essential prep techniques.
  • Achieve a flawless finish with insider tips on commercial pattern use.
  • Master pattern transfers for a seamless start to your sewing project.
  • Walk away ready to sew, with all pieces perfectly prepped and marked.
  • Depending on your chosen design, you might even begin sewing in the workshop!

Age restrictions: 16+
