It’s March, which can only mean one thing: BFF are back at Redcliffe Caves for a weekend of subterranean screenings!
Bristol Film Festival's Underground Cinema is an unforgettable way to discover, or rediscover, some of the silver screen’s hidden gems, pop culture milestones and genre highlights. Delve deep into one of the most unique locations in Bristol, and forget about the outside world for a couple of hours. Whether you’re settling down for a favourite fantasy film or a cult classic, it’s sure to be one of the year’s most memorable movie viewing experiences.
In keeping with the 80s action-adventure theme, and in what has become Underground Cinema tradition, we’ll be screening Jim Henson’s magical musical adventure Labyrinth once more at Redcliffe Caves. Get ready to dance the magic dance, and follow Sarah deep into the Goblin King’s realm before the clock strikes thirteen…
Please note: Redcliffe Caves is a unique event space - we highly recommend all guests read the ‘Venue & Event Information’ tab at this bottom of this page prior to booking.

ABOUT THE LOCATION
Redcliffe Caves are one of the most fascinating locations in Bristol. Originally created to mine sandstone glass in the 17th Century, these caves (technically a quarry!) have a rich and varied history, having been used by hermits, prisoners of war, and even as an air raid shelter. Now, they are accessed through a gate on the Harbourside, and are usually closed to the public.

The location was amazing and I really enjoyed the tour of the caves afterwards. Hosts were so knowledgable and interesting. I’d enjoy anything shown at the caves, even if, as in this case, the film was clearly quite dated though still enjoyable.

Great experience, well organised and great hosts
Really enjoyed the location, felt it was really fitting. Would of loved to have seen some actors maybe jump out from behind nooks in the cave, think that would of been epic.
However, the staff were friendly, approachable and just so smiley. Bravo to all involved!
