Join this seasonal silversmithing workshop and discover the exciting process of casting with organic forms. You'll learn how to pour molten silver directly into pine needles, sourced from local trees, to create wonderfully unique pieces of handmade jewellery.
This fun and warm workshop uses natural materials and the impressive heat of big blowtorches – all under the expert guidance of your tutors. They will show you exactly how to cast your shapes safely and effectively. Once cast, your tutors will help you transform your silver forms into beautiful earrings or pendants, ready for you to wear home. It's a fantastic experience whether you come alone, with friends, or as a family.
During the class, you will cover:
Melting down silver
Pouring molten silver
Soldering
Finishing up and polishing
You’ll leave this session with a new appreciation for natural forms and the craft of silversmithing. Best of all, you'll take home your very own handmade silver jewellery, completely unique to you and the materials you used.
Please note: Silver is not included in the class price. It is charged by weight at £2.50 per gram.
