Gin's a pretty big deal nowadays. The craze for this juniper berry-based drink only seems to be growing. This is why you seriously need to get yourself over to Chew Valley Distillery - sharpish!
Tucked away in a small industrial unit in the village of Bitton , this distillery is offering a tasting of their award-winning gins, surrounded by the marvellous copper stills used to produce them.
But there's more to this tasting than that. Learn from the founder and distiller how this mighty spirit is made and how it soared to popularity today. All while sipping on a perfectly served Chew Valley G&T, as you're guided through the distillery's current range, which you'll taste as you go along.
Take a look at the fine botanicals we use and how they enhance the final product, as well as examining the distillery's process in detail. If you've ever had any burning questions about gin, now's your chance to get them answered!
These tastings are perfect for couples who want to try something a bit different for date night, families of gin enthusiasts, and larger groups getting together for the first time in a while (this distillery thinks the perfect number is a maximum of 12 guests per session).

Excellent evening, fun and informative.
A fun and informative evening about gin, it's creation and specifically the story of Chew Valley Gin. Informal and laid back with tasty gins and an interesting evening all around. Thanks Joe!
We had a great exoereince, Jo was a great host and really looked after our designated driver
Joe is a brilliant host; he is enthusiastic, passionate about his process and product and very informed. We had a great time!
A brilliant experience, great to support a local family run business, ran by a really lovely person.
Lovely evening. Informative, enthusiastic and knowledgeable host with a passion for the amazing gins he produces.
A good choice of gins to try. Very knowledgeable
My wife and I had a great insight into the history of Gin and the process of making it. Our host was excellent, very informative and the group we were in, good fun. We would definitely recommend this Gin tasting session to others.
Jan was an excellent host who enjoyed his role. He knew his stuff and coped with our questions. We loved the product but would have liked to buy the sample pack but it contained my least flavoursome gin - the apple and BlackBerry but it means we get to revisit. The cocktails we had to finish were amazing also, a great night.
We had an amazing evening & learnt a lot from the amazing Jan - the gin was just lovely - who knew Navy strength tasted SO good with just a splash of water!
Lovely host & delicious Gins. Couldn’t ask for a better evening
We had the place to ourselves and our host had the most amazing knowledge of the origins of gin and the distillery. There was no rush and we were there way beyond our allocated time. A great way to celebrate a friend’s birthday!
Really great evening with Jan, felt very personable with small groups and going through all the gin that are distilled on site, discussing each of the tastes, ingredients used and the process
Hand sanitiser is available (a byproduct of gin distillation!).
Your host will space people out as best they can, but the distillery is small.
Your host strongly recommends booking a taxi for your return journey from the distillery. They recommend Keynsham Cars and Uber. If someone's driving and still wants to taste the gins, they can provide a spittoon. Bus Stops to Bristol and Bath are within 1 minutes walk of the distillery..
Parking is available on the outside the distillery
Please arrive for your session promptly or let your host know if you're running late. They can try holding off a little while.
Chew Valley Distillery is a small but rapidly growing distillery located in the village of Bitton, Near Bristol and Bath. They distil a range of award-winning gins - using traditional copper pot stills and vapour infusion techniques to extract the maximum flavour from their lovely botanicals. In addition to a classic London Dry gin, they produce a Navy Strength one, a selection of ‘flavoured’ gins, and limited runs of unique Distiller’s Editions, inspired by seasonal flavours.
The best place to enjoy their gins is at their Distillery Tap room, right next to the stills used to make them.
