Celebrate your body: Have your bump cast in gold

What better way to celebrate your body's magical journey to motherhood than immortalising your bump in gold…

Gift yourself or a loved one a beautiful time capsule of a moment in pregnancy. A talented Bristol artist who champions women's bodies by casting them in gold will create a piece of art to be treasured. (You might have already seen Every Body’s Story featured on the BBC!)

You’ll be given the opportunity to:

  • Connect with your body and its story through the therapeutic, ancient art of body casting. Experience this transformative and empowering process for yourself in a private setting.

  • See your form from a whole new 3D perspective. Create a time capsule of your body and physical embodiment of this special moment in your life.

  • Honour your body and treasure your cast. Your cast is a celebration of your body to display and treasure.

How does the body casting work?

First, you'll apply moisturising oils to your bust and bump. Next, plaster bandages are soaked in warm water and applied to your skin layer by layer. It takes about 30 minutes to apply the plaster bandage and 15 minutes for the cast to set. The cast lifts from the skin surprisingly smoothly (that’s what the oil’s for!).

The golden touch:

Once your cast has dried it will be finished, glossed and painted gold. Mounting twine will be attached so you can hang your cast on the wall if you choose. Collect your cast from the studio one week after the casting session.

These glowing reviews speak for themselves:

“Being cast by Ellen during my pregnancy was a magical experience. Thank you for capturing my body's journey to motherhood.” - Ellie

"This was such a wonderful experience, allowing me the opportunity to deeply connect with, capture and appreciate the incredible magic my body is going through in growing a new human being! With lots of challenging pregnancy symptoms, it is easy to feel negatively towards your pregnant body, this experience gave me the opportunity to reflect on and honour the amazing journey my body has been through. I can't wait to share the cast with our baby, celebrating the first place they called their home. Ellen made me feel very comfortable throughout the process, I would highly recommend it to all!" - Gem
