What you'll do

Bushcraft is the art of existing comfortably in the outdoors, whereas survival is having the means of staying alive when you find yourself unexpectedly in an outdoor situation. Many of the skills needed are the same for both bushcraft and survival, and you’ll discover some of these during your experience.

Led by your experienced instructor in Roundhill Farm’s beautiful beech copse and the surrounding plantations, you’ll learn new skills and put them straight into practice. This two hour experience covers the basics of bushcraft and survival including:

  • Survival and bushcraft priorities
  • Selection and gathering of firewood
  • Lighting a fire without matches
  • Use of basic tools
  • Cooking a simple snack on the fire

This is a great introduction for anyone wanting to discover more about outdoor survival. You’ll go away with an understanding of the basic bushcraft skills needed for outdoor living.

About Moving Mountains

Moving Mountains was founded by Dan in 2016 with the aim of making the great outdoors accessible for everyone to enjoy. They first focused on working with schools, helping children to do fun outdoor activities. During their time in Westerleigh they developed their activities with a focus on bushcraft and archery. Then in late 2019 change came when they discovered Roundhill Farm through a local contact and found a perfect copse for their bushcraft work - along with acres of plantation perfectly suited to orienteering, archery, and a wide range of other activities. They fell in love with the site and have been there since, still delivering on their first mission to make it easy for everyone to get out into nature and enjoy the great outdoors.
