Discover the story of Bristol harbour through the food and drink that was traded here over the course of nine hundred years on this unique food and history tour.
Perfect for foodies, history lovers or anyone who loves discovering a different side of Bristol, this three-hour walking tour combines fascinating local stories with some of the city's best independent food and drink.
We'll start our story around 1000 years ago, when the first imports arrived in the settlement of Brigstowe, slowly making our way to the 19th Century, when trade into the city of Bristol no longer made it past Avonmouth dock. This history will be brought to life, not only by your brilliant tour guide, but in the amazing flavours of local restaurants and bars.
You'll enjoy two delightful tastings, one beautiful sit down meal and two fabulous drinks tastings, as we tell the story of how Bristol grew from a small town, to the city we know and love today.
We'll walk from Wapping Wharf, through Queen's Square, onto Welsh Back, through St Nick's market, along Wine Street, through Castle Park, across to Finzel's Reach, discovering the historical significance of these iconic Bristol places.
Where you'll be stopping:
Salt & Malt
The Granary
The Rummer
Ruby Hue's
Le Vignoble
Each of our stops is a business with a story to tell. We only work with the best Bristol independents and always spotlight good ethics and sustainability. You'll hear from these amazing businesses as you enjoy their incredible produce. And you'll even get a quick visit to a stunning underground club where the famous Del Boy and the bar scene was filmed....
