What you'll do

Winnie & Threads are bringing some of the most delicious wines sourced from the English countryside together for an inspiring wine tasting woven into a macrame making session.

Taste the flavours and learn about three wines grown and nurtured in the English Countryside. Each wine from a different vineyard, all with equally interesting stories and processes.

Savour notes and tones while getting familiar with the language of wine.

This feel-good experience is suitable both for beginner and intermediate macrame makers!

What to expect:

  • Choose from three macramé designs
  • Learn the techniques and knots for your textile piece
  • Get guided step-by-step by your host, from design process to skills
  • Let loose and go wild if you're feeling more confident in your own designs!
  • Make your own macrame wall hanger to take home with you
  • Taste a sparkling pet nat red, low intervention sparkling white & a rosé spritzer in a can !
  • Vegan wines!
  • Learn about biodynamic vineyards and growing grapes in the UK

All of your host's chords are made from recycled cotton. They have some colour cords that are hand-dyed with plants in an environmentally friendly way. There may even be some dried foliage making an appearance to accentuate your design.

All this takes place at The Sewing Room in the old police station building converted into community art space, The Island - it's a pretty cool spot!

About Winnie & Threads

Winnie & Threads is a creative collaboration between two friends who want to bring the planet and community together through textiles. How? By using recycled materials and plant-based colours in their inclusive macrame experiences.

These hands-on workshops are sometimes paired up with English wine tastings, sometimes with local brewers, and sometimes with yoga - just to keep things interesting! Newbies can be guided and learn new skills, while seasoned makers can practice their craft with other people in a new environment. Mostly, your hosts just want you to let your hair down and have fun as you create your own stunning macrame piece!
