Come out on a guided bird walk followed by a paint session where you will create a multi-layered painting of birds you have seen or a bird you love - no experience or drawing skills required.
The bird walk
We will visit two locations in the Forest of Dean to see different types of habitats and birds.
Learn tips and tricks for identifying birds yourself.
There will be equipment to share between people if you don't have binoculars.
After an hour we will travel to the venue to paint and have refreshments.
The workshop
At Stone Rock Lodge, we will bring to life some of the birds we have seen or your personal favourite.
During the 3-hour painting and drawing session using acrylic paints and pens you will create 4 to 6 small designs or 2 larger ones.
No skills or experience required. You will be simple ways to quickly draw and paint birds. There are lots of existing templates ready for you to use.
You will be guided through each step.
Refreshments
Pizzas, soft and alcoholic drinks available.
Optional sauna afterwards
Donations
Donations from the workshops will go to support families in Gaza suffering from the destruction of their homes.
Workshop facilitator
Livvy Drake has been an avid birdwatcher and painter since 2015 when she first went to Skomer island and saw puffins.
She started making bird stencil art for over ten years and is now combining this acrylic style, learned from a artist friend, as a back drop with her bird designs.
