Have you ever wondered how jewellery is made? Join Beth of Silver & Steel for this creative and hands-on ring making workshop.

In this introductory silversmithing workshop you will learn how to make your very own silver ring out of recycled sterling silver. No previous experience is necessary and you will be guided through each step at your own pace in a warm, contemporary environment in the heart of Bedminster.

The workshop will cover:

  • How to work out your ring size
  • Jewellers tools
  • Measuring & cutting
  • Shaping & soldering
  • Filing and finishing

You will have a choice of sizes and styles of silver to choose something that's really personal and that you can enjoy for years to come.

Learn a new skill and come away with something truly unique, precious and made to last!

Vegan Refreshments will be provided.

Rebecca Enderby (She/Her)

Rebecca is a resident maker at Silver & Steel and is passionate about learning. She first started her jewellery journey in Bristol with evening classes and continued her studies in Berlin with Susanne Matsché, when she moved in 2020. Since returning to Bristol she has completed a Diploma in Silver Jewellery with the Jewellers Academy and makes and sells through the gallery. As a self-proclaimed life-long student and former academic, with a PhD in Geography, Rebecca has an experimental attitude towards craft and adores contemporary jewellery. As well as hand fabrication Rebecca creates pieces using the ancient process of lost wax casting and is developing her skills in contemporary filigree. Rebecca has over 10 years of teaching in different contexts, including academia and as a yoga teacher which she has been teaching for the last 8 years. She has a considered approach with an interest in design and will gently guide participants to make their very own handmade silver rings.

Rosie Groom

Rosie is an accomplished jeweller, artist and model. She is passionate about communication and if you've ever met her at a market or event you would have been struck by her ability to articulate creative concepts and methods.

A previous assistant lecturer at the Birmingham School of Jewellery, Rosie brings her experience guiding students, combined with her own creative flair to create practical, useful and inspiring workshops.

Bethany Morton (She/Her)

Bethany is the silversmith behind both Silver & Steel and her personal jewellery brand Bethany May Silver. Down to earth and welcoming Bethany loves sharing her passion for jewellery making with makers of all levels. Having learnt from Alice Goldsack, herself a student of the prominent Diana Porter, Bethany cares deeply about the silversmithing culture and community in Bristol. After years of creating her own work, Bethany developed engaging workshops for beginner jewellers and has taught people of all ages and abilities. Bethany is an experienced creative workshop teacher, educator and trainer who will ensure the experience is fun, memorable and participants leave feeling empowered.
