Join certified Iyengar yoga teacher, Naomi, for an hour of beginner's Iyengar Yoga! This style of yoga uses props to assist you in getting your alignment spot on, which means it's perfect for those who are new to yoga or have physical limitations.

What's Iyengar yoga?

Iyengar yoga is accessible to students of all ages and the props ensure that you build strength and mobility safely so you can truly enjoy the benefits of yoga.

What to expect:

Host Naomi delivers her classes with good humour, so these face-to-face classes are filled with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere!

Please bring your own mat and a blanket. You're also welcome to bring any other yoga equipment that you have, but you can borrow anything you don't have.

Your 1 hour-long beginner's session will be in a huge, well-ventilated room at Vic Park Baptist Church. Just come in through the new part of the building (Charles Padfield Hall entrance) and take the door on the right to join the class upstairs.

This class is perfect for absolute beginners, but once you feel you've got the hang of Iyengar yoga you might want to try Naomi's general level class.

COVID-19 guidelines

Class sizes are limited so everyone has plenty of space. The hall will be ventilated throughout. Sharing of equipment is kept to a minimum.

On the day

Please arrive 5 mins early to get settled and to discuss any injuries or medical conditions etc. Wear comfortable clothes, preferably leggings or shorts. Bring a warm layer for the end of the class. Please bring your own mat and a blanket.

About Naomi - Iyengar Yoga Bristol

Naomi is an Iyengar yoga teacher. You can find Naomi running classes and monthly yoga brunch workshops around Bristol. Naomi started practicing Iyengar yoga back in 2009 when she was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS).

The way that yoga created energy, rather than burnt it was quite overwhelming - Naomi fell in love with Iyengar yoga from the first class! Now fully recovered from CFS and a fully certified Iyengar yoga teacher, Naomi hopes she can help others too. Whether it's to tone up, lose weight, find peace of mind, or recover from illness or injury.
