Axe throwing, or tomahawk throwing as it’s often known as, is as fun as it sounds. Once you get started you’ll find that it’s a precise art and can be very competitive! You’ll have time to perfect your axe throwing skills in this experience at Moving Mountains’ beautiful Roundhill Farm location.
To start with, your instructor will introduce you to the basics of axe throwing and run through a quick safety briefing before guiding you through your first throws. You’ll then have time to perfect your technique with advice and guidance throughout your experience.
Moving Mountains uses KATTA recommended ‘little angels’ for beginners. These are triple bladed axes that allow beginners to quickly develop technique before moving on to the more traditional single headed axes.
During your experience there will be two metres social distancing and for the majority of your time you'll be outside.
Sturdy, closed-toed shoes are essential for axe throwing. Hiking boots are ideal if you have them. Please dress accordingly for the weather, but bear in mind that you won’t be able to wear gloves. Please arrive 10 minutes before your experience is due to start. All equipment will be provided on the day.
Moving Mountains was founded by Dan in 2016 with the aim of making the great outdoors accessible for everyone to enjoy. They first focused on working with schools, helping children to do fun outdoor activities. During their time in Westerleigh they developed their activities with a focus on bushcraft and archery. Then in late 2019 change came when they discovered Roundhill Farm through a local contact and found a perfect copse for their bushcraft work - along with acres of plantation perfectly suited to orienteering, archery, and a wide range of other activities. They fell in love with the site and have been there since, still delivering on their first mission to make it easy for everyone to get out into nature and enjoy the great outdoors.View more experiences by Moving Mountains
