The MAZI Project's aMAZIng supper clubs are back, and they are kicking them off with the wonderful Aurora Kusina!
A modern twist on Filipino comfort food, the evening will be showcasing a 4-course plant-based menu all in aid of The MAZI Project. You Omnivores won't miss the meat course, we promise!
The MAZI Project is a youth-led organisation empowering and nourishing Bristol's disadvantaged 16 - 25-year-olds. These include care leavers, young asylum seekers and those who were homeless. MAZI believes everyone should have access to fresh, healthy and sustainable food - it shouldn't be a privilege. Their weekly MAZI Meal Box service delivers locally sourced fruit and vegetables, chosen by young members of the community, while their cookery workshops work closely with disadvantaged young people in the city.
Inspired by Aurora's home-cooked Filipino dishes, husband and wife duo Ross and Amber keep her spirit alive through their cooking. You can expect traditional flavours but with local, sustainable ingredients. Filipino cuisine is often meat-based but their aim is to create versatile dishes that work with plant-based ingredients too. Making Filipino food accessible to a wider audience.

MAZI (μαζί) means together in Greek. This community initiative believes that we can challenge food inequality in Bristol, together.
MAZI's vision is a world where access to sustainable and tasty food is not a privilege or predetermined by your social class or background. Their mission is to challenge Bristol's food inequality by connecting disadvantaged young people with Bristol’s rich, independent food culture. What are their three pillars? Inclusivity, social justice and community.
Inclusivity: Creating a world where everyone can enjoy the power of food and are included in the conversation around it, no matter what's their social class or background.
Social justice: Contributing towards the fight against food poverty, sustainable food production, and the needs of the young people they work with.
Community: Working with the local community to contribute to growing the local economy and building a network of diverse connections, dedicated to making the world a better place. Their cookery workshops which work with disadvantaged members of the community do just this.
