Ashton Court Mansion Tour: Derelict Areas Access

Step beyond the public rooms of Ashton Court Mansion and discover a hidden side of one of Bristol's most iconic historic buildings.

This rare behind-the-scenes tour takes you into parts of the mansion that are usually closed to visitors, revealing atmospheric spaces frozen in time and rich with history.

Explore the North-West Wing, home to the magnificent Billiard Room. Built in the late 1770s, this extraordinary space is a striking example of Strawberry Hill Gothic architecture and even featured as a filming location in Series 2 of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder. Today, it also bears the scars of the devastating arson attack in 2013, offering a poignant glimpse into the building's more recent past.

From there, climb the grand staircase to a collection of hauntingly beautiful first-floor rooms that remain in a derelict state. As you view these once-elegant interiors, your guide will bring their stories to life, sharing how the mansion fell into decline, the challenges of protecting a Grade I listed building, and the ambitious plans to preserve it for future generations.

Whether you're fascinated by Bristol's history, historic architecture or hidden places, this is a unique opportunity to experience Ashton Court Mansion from a completely different perspective.
