Nature inspired art at Bridge Farm

What you'll do

Get outside and be inspired by glorious green spaces in this creative workshop.

You'll be exploring Bristol's idyllic Bridge Farm and making 'natural pallets' based on the shapes and the colours you encounter. Experiment with different drawing techniques, artistic styles and be guided by nature - here's a relaxing experience for anyone who wants to unleash their inner creativity.

After a warm welcome from your lovely host Clare, you'll head straight outdoors to make your natural pallets. Clare is an artist currently training as an art therapist - they know being creative and connecting to nature work wonders for our wellbeing. With Clare, you'll take a look at artists inspired by nature and explore the ways they express themselves through it. This will help when it comes round to your turn!

Next up, you'll try out several different activities, turning your hand at line drawing, colour play and expressive mark making. All Clare's activities are designed to encourage new ideas and to alleviate any pressure. Once you're feeling relaxed, you'll find responses to the artists' work you have explored and your surroundings should just keep flowing.

Clare will make a booklet for each guest, featuring a collection of the artists observed on the day. There will be a relaxed and open space to chat about your work and how you found the exercises at the end.
