An Introduction to Trail Running

Ever wished you had the skills to run confidently along some of the stunning paths and trails south of Bristol? Well, now you can!

Come spend some time with a seasoned trail runner and experienced competitive runner and learn many tips for effective and safe off-road running so that you can enjoy freedom off the beaten track! There will be disussions as well as controlled running that will analyse how you can improve your running form, and suggestions for exercises that will improve your running economy.

With Mark you'll get an introduction to trail running, have a laugh and go for an explore of some secret tracks and trails! All this takes place in a stunning horse riding stables in Failand, with views of the Bristol Channel and Wales.

Minimum fitness level required.

COVID-19 guidelines

There is hand gel and water and soap at the yard, but feel free to bring your own. Obviously, should you be experiencing the symptoms of the virus or have been ill, or live with someone who has, please stay away.

On the day

  • You will need plenty of running kit (plus something to change into afterwards as there will be mud!).
  • Trail shoes are highly recommended but you could survive with road shoes; you may be slipping around rather a lot.
  • Location is Gallop View Stables, Lower Failand
