What you'll do

Calling all creatives curious about the world of linocut printing - this experience should be right up your street. Let a professional artist guide you as you get to grips with this popular medium, in a working print studio.

Step into Artintro's Bristol studio, with a warm and welcoming environment. The workshop will begin with your friendly host introducing you to linocut. They will give demonstrations of this printmaking technique, sharing examples of their own work and other artists who use this process.

You'll be filled with plenty of inspiration for creating your own linocut prints. But if your heart is already set on what you want to produce, your host will be happy to discuss how you can achieve this. You will produce a black and white print and two or three colour prints. Up to five prints can be printed from each design, making these ideal gifts for family or friends!

The next part of the workshop will let you experiment with the equipment and use tools to create lots of different marks, followed by practising printing the lino block. Once you've had a good chance to experiment, it will then be time to produce a black and white design for printing and put your new knowledge to the test. A short break with tea, coffee and biscuits will follow.

Next up, you'll create two or three colour prints - after your host talks you through the process, sharing some inspiring examples and giving you a demo. In this workshop, all your work can be taken away, including the lino blocks. A small kit will be available to purchase afterwards, so you can make more prints at home. There will even be the opportunity to get your print framed using the studio's in-house framing equipment - too good an opportunity to miss!
