Every experience purchased now supports a local business at this challenging time.
All experiences can be scheduled when you or your gift recipient are ready.
Take a day to grow your skills in cooking on an open fire, first foraging and then cooking with your own wild ingredients.
The day will begin with a foraging walk, harvesting a range of wild ingredients for us to cook up into a tasty lunch. There will also be some pre-made samples to try including jams and chutneys to inspire your future foraging creations. You’ll discover how to build a fire best for cooking on, and with the help of Hannah create your own and improve your wild cooking skills.
Your experience will be hosted by Wild Folk and with Totally Wild UK, experts in foraging and cooking in nature. It’s a chance to spend a day immersed in nature, enjoying the woodland you explore as well as discovering more about foraging. You’ll leave with the skills to fire cook and lots of ideas for using wild produce, as well as what to look out for when foraging for your own wild ingredients.
Minimum fitness level required.
There are no upcoming dates for this experience.
Existing dates have all sold out, but you can book now and schedule later when new dates are released.
We will continue to check the UK guidelines and adjust things where necessary, but this workshop will be limited to 15 people and no more that 6 people for each booking. We will stagger cooking so that only a few people are prepping food at any one time and there will be 1.5m+ social distancing. We will be using hand sanitiser any time a hard surface is touched and before and after food prep and eating.
Come along wearing comfortable shoes and appropriate clothes for the weather
You may like to bring something to take notes on - whether that's your phone, a camera or a notepad. You could even sketch some of the things that you see
Please bring a drink and snacks to keep you going until lunch, as well as hand sanitiser
Parking and meeting point details will be sent after booking leading up to the event.
Wild Folk puts on creative events in magical green spaces in and around Bristol. The aim is to help people grow their own personal nature connection (whilst improving their general wellbeing) as well as to connect with other ‘wild folk’ to do these activities with. At every event we encourage a sense of community, if only for a few hours. You can expect foraging walks, creative workshops, feasts, storytelling and poetry.View more experiences by Wild Folk
Hannah was inspired to create Wild Folk to help people immerse themselves in nature, enjoy cooking on fires and socialise in a supportive community. She started Wild Folk as a meetup group here in the South West that people could come to alone or with friends, and now offers a variety of nature experiences.
