Family Silversmithing for Tweens & Teens

Tweens and teens can have their first taste of jewellery making in this silversmithing workshop for families. Over the summer holidays, Silver & Steel are offering a weekly silversmithing experience for teens, tweens and their parents or guardians.

Do something fun, interesting, and empowering as a family over the summer holidays and learn how hugely rewarding silversmithing is. You will learn new skills while making something beautiful to wear.

Learn to make a simple small ring out of 1-2mm wire or a small letter-stamped pendant (chain not included).

What you will learn:

  • Sawing and shaping silver
  • How to size and shape a ring
  • Learn soldering with an open flame
  • Learn how to file and polish your finished piece

ALL under 18's must be accompanied by a parent. By booking and reading our terms and conditions parents accept responsibility for their under 18's and their health and safety. We have an experienced host with a background in working with under 18's but parents must attend.

Bethany is the silversmith behind both Silver & Steel and her personal jewellery brand Bethany May Silver. Down to earth and welcoming Bethany loves sharing her passion for jewellery making with makers of all levels. Having learnt from Alice Goldsack, herself a student of the prominent Diana Porter, Bethany cares deeply about the silversmithing culture and community in Bristol. After years of creating her own work, Bethany developed engaging workshops for beginner jewellers and has taught people of all ages and abilities. Bethany is an experienced creative workshop teacher, educator and trainer who will ensure the experience is fun, memorable and participants leave feeling empowered.
