Pottymouth Workshop and Chance & Counters join forces to bring you a night of clay and chess!
In this immersive experience, participants will delve into the art of pottery while creating their very own personalised chess set. This workshop combines the strategic depth of chess with the creative freedom of pottery, offering a unique and engaging activity for enthusiasts of both disciplines.
During the workshop, you will be guided through the process of hand-building each chess piece using clay, from the regal King and Queen to the valiant Knights and steadfast Pawns. With expert instruction and hands-on demonstrations, all clay abilities are welcome no previous experience needed!
In this vibrant board game café nestled in the heart of Bristol.
Your finished item will be left with your hosts who will fire and glaze your work. You will be contacted to collect your completed chess set from your host within 2-4 weeks.

Meredith is a ceramicist specialising in handbuilding with 3 years of teaching experience. She enjoys exploring clay techniques such as coiling, pinch pots and slab building. Bringing these techniques to a variety of workshops, Meredith aims to share her love of the clay world by guiding you through the process of handmade forms.
Naomi is an expert potter with three years teaching experience. Naomi mostly works on the potter's wheel, but has recently reignited her love for hand building. Her aim is to help people realise their ideas in clay. Naomi will be on hand during the whole experience to give advice, support and plenty of encouragement.
