This bee experience is usually 1.5 hours and is ideal for families, homeschooling groups and anyone curious to find out more about bees in Bristol. It is bookable now for dates between May - September, when the hives are open during the warmer months.

Whilst away at a festival Alyson got stuck into some natural workshops and particularly enjoyed foraging and making her own natural lotions and potions. This, along with her love of gardening and a newfound interest in beekeeping, was the beginning of Hives and Herbals. Alyson now produces a range of products using honey, beeswax and propolis, as well as offering amazing beehive encounters. Hives and Herbals bee experiences are ideal for people of all ages, from preschoolers to pensioners, and are perfect for anyone interested in getting closer to bees in their hive in a safe, relaxed environment.

She looks after several hives of honey bees in and around Bristol, and creates her own natural products made from honey, wax and propolis. Alyson loves sharing her bee experiences with anyone who's interested in discovering more about them.
A great experience. I would highly recommend this Bee Workshop to anyone interested in learning about bees.
Alyson was very passionate and knowledgeable with facts and figures to wow!
There were also a great number of 'bee' products to purchase at the end of the workshop.
All in all a thoroughly enjoyable 1.5 hours.
Thank you Alyson :-)
Alyson was a knowledgeable teacher with an obvious passion for things bees. She was good with our fidgety teenager and open to all our questions. I liked her flexible and relaxed approach, but I wished there were a few more resources to supplement what was being described. We learned a lot, watched the bees whilst wearing bee suits and made a beeswax candle each which is a lovely souvenir of our learning.
Lovely experience for myself and my children (ages 10 and 7). Very informative and good introduction to bee keeping.
