Be Experimental: Vocal Improvisation

After having smashed Glasto and WOMAD festivals last summer, with reviews like "That was totally empowering", "My daughter would never have got on stage if it wasn't for you" and hailed as THE highlight of Glasto by the radio DJ on Worthy FM...

...Be Experimental with BexX now returns to Bristol for a one off event.

Get ready to unleash your creativity and explore the power of your voice in ways you never thought possible!

Introducing ‘Be Experimental’, the interactive-concert experience where you become the lead performer and explore what it means to 'Be Vocal'.

Beginners and skilled singers are welcome. No experience necessary, you just need the desire to create!

Join a truly unique and therapeutic session of live vocal improvisation that encourages creative freedom and letting go of perfectionism. You won't just be a spectator, but also a performer creating magic with others in real-time.

Whether you're a seasoned singer or a first-timer, these sessions are a fit for everyone, regardless of skill level. It's a safe space to overcome any insecurities you may have about singing and to unlock your hidden potential.

At Be Experimental, we believe in collaboration and creative freedom. Our goal is to create an environment where everyone has a level playing field to contribute their unique voice. You'll meet new people, unlock your creativity, and create something truly unique, spontaneous, and ever-changing.

Play with sound through the voice with no pressure. We follow a speed-run method to writing new songs, cutting the time commitment many feel they need to write, and generating multiple new musical ideas in a very short space of time.

You'll be invited to vocalise your lyrical and musical ideas on the mic, to a live-produced soundtrack that is improvised in response to the energy and feeling of the group. Everyone can take home their recordings and is encouraged to continue to collaborate, remix, and re-produce the ideas into something new.

Don't just take our word for it, hear what others are saying about Be Experimental: "This was the most fun I've had in ages! It's such a liberating experience to create music in a collaborative, no-pressure environment." -Clara Sign up for Be Experimental today and unleash your creativity and explore the power of your voice!

What to bring: Pen / pencil and paper or a journal / notebook. A bottle of water. Your voice and bundles of fun. No instruments necessary.

Age restrictions: 16+

Adult (per person, per session) £15
Concession (Be Vocal Academy Members and Concessions) £10
