The best indie things to do in Bristol this spring

Last updated on Tuesday 16 April 2024

Spring is like coming up for air, isn't it? When the first few pips of sunshine come through the grey you feel lighter, happier, and ready to go out and explore the city again. It's almost as if we have a... spring in our step (haha)!

Bristol is absolutely gorgeous in spring. I first visited Bristol in the late springtime when hot air balloons were floating across the city. I fell in love with the place, found somewhere to live, and haven't looked back since!

With spring bringing everyone out of hibernation, there are loads of things to do in Bristol to dust off the old cobwebs. Here's some of the best things to do this spring with indie businesses and creators in Bristol:

Foraging walk for wild edible and medicinal plants with Healing Weeds

Wild garlic, sticky weed, elderflowers and more edibles can be found growing around Bristol in spring. The woodlands, hedgerows, and green spaces around Bristol are actually bursting with wild food that's ready to be eaten or made into healing medicines. I've made wild garlic pesto, rosemary focaccia, and a very boozy elderflower wine from treats I've found growing around Bristol- and it was incredible!

Join forager Maria to discover the wild food to be found in abundance in your favourite Bristol locations!
