Your hosts

Steve Cook

Through his travels working in the software industry, Steve visited around 40 distilleries across the United States and the UK, becoming a fully-fledged whisky geek. After nearly a decade in the tech world, Steve made his passion in whisky his job. He’s sampled thousands of whiskies, from everyday drams to the absurdly rare, becoming well-acquainted with many of the production teams, and these days spends his time hosting tastings, writing articles researching distilleries and whisky in general, and even produces tasting notes for retailers.

His tastings are a relaxed and often humorous affair. His interest lies in helping others enjoy whisky, welcoming novices and fellow enthusiasts alike. So, whether you’re completely new to whisky or well-accustomed and want to know more, Steve’s happy to answer all questions.

Renata Ma

Renata has an extensive history in the whisky world. She started her journey in whisky bars in Lithuania and studied in Scotland. Now, she's moved to the UK to explore her passion further. She's a regular feature at national whisky shows and you may have spotted her on various posters! You'll find her in the bar hosting tastings, but she also masterminds some of Grain & Glass' events and monthly themes. She has an eclectic taste in whisky, but grain whisky holds a special place in her heart.
