Splashes & flashes - high speed flash photography

What you'll do

Here's one exciting, hands-on experience designed for anyone that's curious about mastering new photography techniques. With the help of your host, you'll learn how to use flash photography to shoot the highest speed water motion. (Don't blink - you might just miss it!)

This is a studio-based experience with adventure photographer, Iain, as your host. Iain will teach you the skills you need to recreate high-speed flash photography yourself, with inspiring ideas for future set-ups.

In this masterclass:

  • • Learn all about high-speed photography techniques and settings
  • • Capture splash images that are invisible to the human eye
  • • Discover how off-camera flash can be used to freeze the fastest motion
  • • Experiment with plenty of new shots and with shutter timing
  • • Recreate iconic high-speed photography imagery
  • • Learn how to use the studio lighting to create unique background effects

You'll even capture the exact moment a balloon full of water pops or a drop of water falls into a glass!

You don't need any previous experience to get great results - just an interest in photography. Bring your own DSLR camera to learn on and a spare memory card, plus any other equipment you have. All of the flash equipment is provided.
