What you'll do

Want to go on a musical journey to unlock the singer inside of you? Discover your true potential? Hit all the right notes? Let jazz singer, songwriter and vocal teacher Lil Maxine show you the way.

Originally from Austria and now living in Bristol, your host is a multi-talented, professionally trained vocalist. She's passionate about empowering guests to tap into their musical talents. Workshops are run in small groups, so expect an intimate, lovely and encouraging experience. Lil Maxine recognises 'singing would be a lot easier if the voice had buttons and strings we could plug and play, but...it would make this voyage half the fun.'

A couple of vocal exercises will get you all warmed up and ready to hit some harmonies. Lil Maxine will share all her top techniques to get you there. Some improvisation games will get you into the groove before you begin mastering a song on your musical adventure. This experience is a wonderful way to explore jazz, blues and world music under the guidance of a total pro.

Suitable for non-singers, beginners and more advanced performers. Step away feeling warm-hearted and inspired to sing for the rest of the day!

Lise Huber

Lise Huber is Lil Maxine’s vocalist. She’s a jazz singer, pianist, songwriter and vocal teacher.

Originally from Austria, Lise moved to Bristol in 2018 where she set up Sound Your Voice.
Lise has been working as a music artist and vocal teacher for more than 15 years. She’s worked with everyone from stage actors, to performing artists, and those just starting out in their careers. In 2016 Lise began running empowering workshops to help ‘non-singers’ overcome their fear of singing.

Lise calls Lil Maxine her ‘alter-ago’. Beyond her solo works and performances, she’s collaborated in numerous jazz, theatre, musical storytelling and visual arts projects.

Lise studied for three years at Vienna’s University of Music and Performing Arts, as a jazz and contemporary music singer and teacher. She graduated with honours. Lise is motivated to be the best vocalist she can be. She continues her training at the internationally renowned Institute for Vocal Advancement (IVA).
